«Woodworking - 2008» is the largest, most authoritative international specialized exhibition of the equipment and technologies for wood, woodworking and furniture industry in the Republic of Belarus, took place for the 15th time in Minsk. Recently the state has paid special attention to the development of wood, woodworking branches and alternative power, including local kinds of fuel. Ministry of forestry and "Bellesbumprom" concern have started realization of plans on re-equipment of operating manufactures and creating new woodworking enterprises. The size of wood preparation has increased. The furniture market continues to develop intensively in the Republic. Its size makes more than 37 % the size of wood, woodworking, pulp and paper industry altogether. In view of the above the share of furniture manufacture and furniture components has reached more than 50 %. Certainly, the present exhibition has reflected tendencies in the development of economic policy and market conditions in the country.
The distinguishing feature of the exhibition was the huge amount of the operating exhibited equipment. Usual information stands were very few in number. The showroom turned in industrial shop. Numerous visitors received an excellent possibility to see exhibits at work, estimate real possibilities of equipment of various marks and models. The majority of exhibits were already sold prior to the beginning of the exhibition, or during it. Practically it was possible to see the "sold” tag at each stand.
The full spectrum of logging and woodworking equipment such as equipment for preparation, primary sawing up, wood drying, automated processing centers and industrial lines for furniture manufacture have been presented by the industrial and trading companies from Belarus, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Slovenia, Ukraine, France and Switzerland . Among exhibits it was possible to see longitudally-sawing machine tools equipped with systems of optimization saw cut, computerized template lines, drilling automatic machines, high-speed edge processed machine tools, the tennon-milling centres, lines of merging, installations for preliminary and intermediate grinding of surfaces for finishing coverings, lines of varnishing and etc.
The largest expositions have been shown by Koimpex S.r.l., (Italy, representative of Biesse Group in Belarus), Lintera JSC, (Lithuania, representative of Homag Group AG in Belarus), ЭСА Ltd (Belarus, representing, equipment of Altendorf, Holzher, Vitap, Bakaut, instrument Leuco, CMT, Iberus), Michael Weinig AG (Germany), Kami-Agregat PPUE (Belarus, equipment from China, Taiwan and own manufacture), the Negotiant-Engineering (Russia, equipment of SCM, Orma, Barberan), LDM UE (Belarus, equipment of Griggio, Lange Maschinenbau, Hirzt), Arhar Engineering (Slovenia, representative of SCM Group, Morbidelli, Orma and other companies).
As well as last year, Itales, Storti, Cefla Finishing Group (Italy), the Trading house of Gorki metal works, Intervest, Perytone Industrial, (Russia), the PAN-STP, SlavVud and VVK-S (Belarus), Stihl, IMA Klessmann, Nestro Lufttechnik (Germany), Polytechnik Luft - und Feuerungstechnik (Austria) participated in the exhibition .
Traditionally big block was occupied by manufacturers and sellers of woodworking tools. Among them: Bahco Tools (bimetallic tape and ring saws of own manufacture, and also SNA Europe), Vi-Mens (Banso), VVK-S (Gass, Pilana, Sandvik, Gopol, WPW), Galagroup-Invest (Faba, Wapienica, AKE, Иберус Kiev) LDM (Leitz), GlobalTools (First, FLAI, Centerinox, Microtech, Nordutencili), Pan-Invest (Faba, Festo), Pan-Lak(Iberus Kiev, Innateks, GMZ, Fenes, Faba), SmartInvest(Dimar), ЭСА (Leuco, CMT, Forezienne, Iberus), MFLS Forezienne (France, tape and disk saws, knives, abrasive circles), ELSI (Russia, mills), Leitz (Germany, mills, knifes, hard alloyed saw blades), GmZ-Gedumeks (Russia, saws, knives) well proved in the Belarus market.
The drying cells Katres (Czechia), Cathild Industrie (France), Secal, Incoplan (Italy), Raviteka, Balticeq (Lithuania), Makil (Belarus), Unyversal-M, Gelios SKV, Prometey, KW (Russia) also were presented.
Glue Henkel Dorus, Bindan (Bindulin-Werk), Kleiberit, Jowat; polyuretahane varnishes and mordants Ultracolor, paintwork materials Sopur, Sirca were presented in the section of paintwork and finishing materials, glues and various chemical products for wood protection - antiseptic tanks, fire retardants.
The Belarus companies such as Byttechtorg ARC, Kraftiniltorg Ltd, Zebrawood Ltd, Most-group, presented woodworking machine instruments Cehisa, SCM, Wood-Mizer, and Ponsse Oy (Finland, the logging equipment), Ekofiltras (Lithuania, filters), Serra Maschinenbau (Germany, band machines), Mebor d.o.o. (Slovenia, band machines) took part in the exhibition for the first time.
The increase in number of the exhibitors offering the equipment for wood processing and boiler equipment became one more feature of the exhibition. The use of wood waste in power attracts higher and higher attention with every passing year. Therefore it is natural, that the exhibition has reflected this tendency. Among exhibits: crushing and cutting machines (Bandit Industries, Jenz, Junkkari, Farmi Forest, Posch, Teknamotor, Vecoplan, Weima), briquetting presses (Kuper, Weima, Ruf) manufactures of pellets (Itales,Biostazhiring), wood cutting (Farmi Forest, Palax, Posch), the boiler equipment (Polytechnic, Uniconfort, Ahena Boilers, KIV,Rokintekhinvest).
Minsk Tractor Plant RUE, Mozyr Machine-building Plant JSC, Tiger Joint Ltd, Hydroskan PUE, Yugum Ltd, LIV Hidravlika (Slovenia), Ponsse (Finland) have shown logging equipment.
The scientific-practical seminar «Woodworking equipment; quality and material capacity equipment» took place here. Association of woodworking and furniture enterprises of the Republic of Belarus and the Belarus State Technological University were the organizers of the seminars.
