The competition-tasting "Gust" on the best product of year is hold within the limits of exhibitions «Belproduct » and «Food industry» since 2001. The purpose of this competition is the increase of competitiveness of production, its advancement in the internal and external markets, expansion of commodity markets and introduction of modern packing technologies of the world level. The enterprises which are engaged in manufacture of foodstuff can become participants of the competition.
The structure of jury of competition-tasting includes leading experts of food branch of Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Trade, State committee on standardization, Belarusian State Institute of certification , Belarusian State Institute of metrology, Institute of meat-and-milk industry, Belarusian Scientific Research Institute of foodstuff, Мinskgorpishcheprom, Beltekhnokhleb, Беlptitseprom, Мinbakaleyatorg, The Republican scientifically-practical centre of neurology and neurosurgery of Ministry of Health.
The competition-tasting "Gust" is hold on the following groups of products: meat, dairy, fish, bakery, confectionery products, soft drinks and mineral water.
THE NOMINATIONS OF THE COMPETITION-TASTING "GUST", December, 2008
The best alcoholic beverage production:
· vodka and special vodka; · bitter nastoyka; · liquors.
The best wine production:
· natural grape wine (dry, moist and semisweet); · special grape wine; · fortified fruit wine; · sparkling wine; · cognac; · natural fruit-berry wine.
The best dairy product:
· cheeses spread, melted cheeses ; ·butter; · milk; · ice-cream; · glazed cheese curd and not glazed.
The best meat product:
· products from pork and smoked-boiled beef, rissole hams (no more than 3 samples); · meat half-finished products: - ravioli (no more than 2 samples);
· canned meat (beef, pork, horse-flesh, poultry) (no more than 2 samples); · canned for children's food; · products from the meat of poultry (no more than 2 samples): - boiled rissole hams;
- boiled beef-rolls, boiled-smoked, smoked-boiled, smoked-baked;
· eggs; · the competition of facility - puff, stuffed sausages and products.
The best fish product:
· canned fish; · fish products of hot and cold smoking; · fish salty; · caviar; · products on the basis of caviar.
The best bakery and confectionery products:
·cakes; · long loafs; · rye -bread; · rye-white bread; · enriched breads. • chocolate; · sweets in the chocolate glaze; · chocolate without additives and with additives; · zephyr, wafers, cookies; · halvah.
Enterprises-winners of the competition are awarded by diplomas, and also acquire the right of use of the emblem of the competition to packing of the goods and in the advertising purposes.
The information on winners and their production takes places in mass-media and on sites in the Internet (www.belgiss.org.by, www.minskexpo.com).
The competition-tasting "Gust" is hold by the Belarus State Institute of Standardization and Certification at support of Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs of the Republic of Belarus and "MinskExpo", JSC.

· the best alcoholic drink from the 24th of November till the 11th of December, 2008 (the letter-contract, the certificate of delivery-taking-over of works)
· the best meat product from the 8th till the 11th of December, 2008 (the letter-contract, the certificate of delivery-taking-over of works)
· the best dairy product from the 5th till the 11th of December, 2008 (the letter-contract, the certificate of delivery-taking-over of works)
